Commercial Buildings

Low rise commercial buildings often have large roof or ground level car parking areas that provide a high conversion of rainfall to runoff and lend themselves well to rainwater or stormwater harvesting systems.

Cooling towers are a typical high volume water use in commercial buildings that does not require drinking quality water. Other common high water uses suitable for alternative water supply include:

 Toilet flushing;

Landscape irrigation;

Water features;

Window and floor cleaning; and

Carpark and plantroom washdown.
